Missed Grand Cayman

We didnt get to tender in Grand Cayman during our December, 2005 cruise on the Carnival Conquest.

The captain explained that it was due to high winds making it unsafe for the tender boats to operate.

Our next port of call was Cozumel and we just took our time getting there. We arrived a couple of hours early.

We did stop at Grand Cayman a couple weeks ago and of course tendered, but it's always a bit rough. They kept telling us take your time, it's all in the timing because when you step from the tender onto the ship platform, or the pier, there is a big wave wash. It's actually a bit dangerous.

I said I wasn't going to get off the ship because there were 8 ships in port, but the other 3 in my group wanted to so I went along. The streets and sidewalks were so crowded you could hardly go any where.

I guess I stepped too slow because one leg was on the platform and the other was caught mid way with the big dip. My leg hurt the rest of the week.
