12:10 p.m. return flight- Will I make it?

I certainly hope so, because we have a 12:10 return flight for our cruise too. According to Carnival's web site, they recommend flights no earlier than.......get this......12:10pm from Ft. Lauderdale (I'm assuming you are cruising from Lauderdale, but don't know the Legends itinerary that well). Here's a link to their page which states it: http://www.carnival.com/CMS/FAQs/debarkation.aspx

That being said, I do have travelers insurance so I'm not too worried if I miss the flight. Heck, maybe all others will be full and I'll have to stay in Lauderdale another night.

We missed our 2:30 flight out of Miami on our last (one and only) cruise. We didn't/couldn't get off the ship until past 12:30. May want to pack your cell phone and have your airline's number handy to try to scramble and get a seat/s on later flight/s. That being said, if you have connections, be aware of what times those leave and what your alternatives are.

We're taking a 4:30 pm flight out this time.:D

...depends upon how fast they clear the ship...

And we all know that when Mr. Murphy gets a chance to rear his ugly head he will.

It also depends on how many ships are in port that day. We were off the ship prior to 9 and were at the airport by around 10:30 (docked in Miami/flew out of FLL) and had a 6:30 or 7 pm flight. Thought we'd try to get an earlier flight...still waited in line for over 4 hours and didn't get the early flight.

I guess folks should be aware that they aren't the only folks getting off a ship when the cruise is over AND that there are non-cruise pax trying to get a flight as well.

We had a 12:50 flight from FLL this past New Years Eve and had no problem. We used regular debarkation and were off the ship by 8:30 and at the airport before 9:30. However, every once and a while, immigration will clear a ship's crew and this can take forever. I believe it happens quarterly. Happened to us once but it was in NY and it didn't matter to us since we didn't have to catch a flight. If you are flying out of a alrge city where the airport is a distance, you may have a problem. I would bring a printed airline itinerary with you since Carnival will allow you off the ship first but you must show proof of a flight.

Another caution... probably not a good idea to book a Carnival transfer to the airport. I recently used the Carnival transfer from Port Everglades to FLL. It was shortly after 11:00 a.m. by the time I got off the ship, my flight wasn't until 3:25 that afternoon so I was in no hurry to get to the airport.

There was a couple however, that debarked at the same time as me and their flight was at 12:15. They had pre-purchased the Carnival transfers and when they got to the bus the Carnival rep told them the bus would not be leaving for the airport until it was full and they might be better to take a taxi to the airport. The gentleman was understandably upset, having already paid for the transfers and received no caution beforehand.

I presume they took a taxi as they did not get on the bus I was on, which was a good thing because it was about 11:40 before we even left the dock.

Not sure where you're sailing out of--in January we did self assist in Miami after a Fascination cruise. We were off the ship and at the airport by 10 AM. We'd booked a 2ish flight because we were following Carnival's guidelines but ended up taking the earlier 12:30 flight with plenty of time to spare. As stated, there is always something that could happen to hold up the ship but barring that, you should be fine if you self assist and take a taxi to the airport (not using Carnival's transfers is sound advice).
