Liberty crowding

The Liberty and Miracle are two different ships entirely.

If you go to the buffet at a peak dining time like noon it will be crowded. what we saw is that everyone that came through the door got in the first line they saw.

Go during off times and it will be good. I sailed the Liberty in February and thought it was not crowded at all.

When in August are you going--- I am going again Augst 26th.

With this class of ship there are dead ends. If you have an aft cabin you cant take the first set of elevators down to the dining room-- you have to walk more midship to get those.

On this class of ship you can get anywhere by going to the promanade deck and going forward or aft.

i found it very crowded and the traffic flow poor. the areas around the elevator, stairs, buffet, pools and dining were especially bad. our sailing wasn't even full (about 2600). i can't imagine how it would be with the max occupancy of 3600.

I just got off the Liberty 2 weeks ago and also went on the Liberty in 2005. Never had a problem dealing with it being crowded. It is only crowded after a show lets out near the elevators when everyone goes back to their cabin, at the peak of breakfast/lunch time on the Lido deck (which is common on any ship), or at sea day at the main pool at the peak of the day.

We never had trouble finding a place to sit to eat. we were never running into people or anything. Nothing where it will ruin your cruise. There are times when you will be on the Promenade deck while everyone else is at shore at a port, on the lido deck swimming or eating, or getting ready for dinner, and there is NOBODY around....maybe you will hear a couple people gambling in the casino. I would go there for sushi or a cappiccino and it was very quiet in the afternoon/early evening.

Tips:

While on the Lido deck eating breakfast or lunch around peak time when it seems busy, you can eat on the second floor near the aft of the Lido buffet area. You'll see stairs by the dessert stand. There is also a Fish and chips stand upstairs, where they make oysters and seafood medley soup (not everyone knows about it). It is much quieter upstairs and more seating is available.

You also have the option to eat breakfast (and I think lunch) in the Silver dining room instead of the buffet style. It is a sit down meal with more menu options.

Also, if you are the type of person who wants to lay out on sea day at the main pool in front of the big screen t.v., you need to get there early to hold your chairs. I got to the pool at 7:30a.m. only because we needed to reserve a total of 10 chairs (they planned to eat and then come to the pool), but I noticed that most people arrive at the pool by 9:00. All I am saying is, don't expect to arrive at 12:00 or 1:00 and find a prime spot to sit. However, there are plenty of chairs available for everyone besides at the main pool if that is all you are looking for (on several decks 9, 10, 11, 12, aft and forward). otherwise, it wasn't a problem at all.

You will have a great time! Hope this helps. Liberty is a great ship and very beautiful. :p

Keep in mind you are going in August, so it is pretty likely ther'll be lots of kids on board. Not that it is a major issue, but sometimes their antics can make the active areas seem crowded.

However, I was on the Valor in March, which is the same class ship. I did not feel at all crowded. I will be going on the Liberty in February, so we will see how it is then! I'll post a review!:)

sailed Liberty twice, once in 05 in Europe, the ship was sold out, and again in Dec 06, again the ship was sold out.

Never really noticed the crowds either sailing. This past cruise was ate several meals breakfasts and lunches in the dinning room. Especially the day we docked in Nassau, since the ship docked at 1:00 and people were trying to eat at the buffet before they got off the ship. So we went to the dinning room, very pleasant, go seated right away and the lucnh went much faster than Lido Buffet.

We do not use the elevators, since we generally book deck six or seven and mid ship, this makes it very convenient for walking up a few flights to lido or down a few flights to deck 5 where you can go from front to back of the ship.

ALso when coming back from excursions, we usually walked up a few flights first and then caught the elevator. This is about the only place that I noticed congestion.
