Orcrone Posted July 22, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2004 A total of eight people from my family are going on a cruise. Our ages are anywhere from 15 to 78. A couple have pre-existing conditions,. Because of this no one insurance company is best for all of us. Is there any advantage to purchasing insurance for all eight of us through one company. Or should each of us get insurance based on the best prices for our circumstances?
lougee1043 Posted July 22, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2004 go to www.insuremytrip.com and you can review lots of different companies -what they offer and what they charge-----you could then pick the ones that best suit the various members of your trip
mirrajay Posted July 22, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 22, 2004 Keep in mind thought that most of the companies need you to buy insurance within 14 days of booking your cruise in order to cover pre-existing conditions. Just be sure to read the fine print.

The biggest advantage is convenience in the case of a claim. For example, if grandma has a health problem and a couple of other group members also cancel because of that it would be easier for all to deal with one claims department. But that should not be the determining factor in the purchase. Every traveler should buy the policy that best suits their needs.

mcboo Posted July 22, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 22, 2004 Check out www.travelex.com pre-existing conditions are covered as long as policy purchased at least 21 days from time of deposit. Read the fine print.

Whether a person is traveling solo or part of a group of eight the premium will be the same.
