rajntra Posted January 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2007 Has anyone ever had a problem not getting credit for being a previous cruiser when arriving on ship? Specifically invitation to the past guest party? If so what do you do? Should you bring something that shows you are a past guest?
LindaJSteele Posted January 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2007 If you're that concerned, you should call Carnival now and confirm your history with them. You can check your past history on the website, but that's no guarantee. My husband and I have cruised together on every cruise we've taken, but for some reason, Carnival had me listed as platinum and not my husband. It took a few days for the purser's desk to straighten it out - even though he had taken his past history printed from the website to show. It's just best to check ahead of time, and then you'll have no worries! Happy cruising!

This will be our first prior guest cruise so I have no experience and just want to be prepared in case there is a problem if problems are possible. mrdood Posted January 6, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2007 Log on to the web and print your history out and take with if you are concerned. Always better to get it handled before cruising so you are not wasting time at the pursers desk.

DGP1111 Posted January 6, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 6, 2007 Our cruise last month was our 4th with Carnival but it was the 1st time we ever got an invite to PGP and a pin My cruise last month was my 6th with Carnival, and it was the first time I'd gotten invited to party or pin (and the dapper gold card). For some of those I didn't even know those perks existed, and later just didn't really care about the invite or not - - and the red/white/blue key card didn't open the cabin doors with any less assistance. The challenge was mostly on my part, as I'd not noticed that on some sailings I was "Don", others I was "Donald", and one as "Donald Gene". So the data base didn't seem to recognize all were the same, especially since there were address changes during the years as well. I wasn't registered on the website most of that time, so that didn't raise any flags either. But now all is fine and coordinated, and my only suggestion to those who might have challenges is to simply call the special CCL department, and give them the name options as well as all addresses, and they can get it all finalized. It just might take a bit of time and effort on the part of the passenger.
Rena921 Posted January 6, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 6, 2007 Since you have sailed with CCL before, you will get a gold S&S card instead of the red, white and blue (as long as you have a past guest #). If you do not get an invite in your cabin to the PGP, talk to your steward or go to the pursers desk. I asked my steward right away and he said he would take care of everything. No problems at all. I got a pin, and key chains along with the invite...pretty cool. Plus, if you have played in the Casino on your previous cruise make sure you send an email to the Casino host and let them know what date you are sailing. They will have a nice little package waiting for you in the Casino too. Hope this helps!;)
nybumpkin Posted January 6, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 6, 2007 When we sailed on Conquest (second cruise), DH and 2 of our sons received gold S&S cards, while middle son and I received the red/white/blue cards. No idea why - we were all on the first cruise (and in fact, I was the one who booked the first cruise). A stop at the purser's desk very quickly resulted in new gold S&S cards and there was no problem with PGP invites.
