Catch The Wave Snorkel in Cozumel

Yes and NO., We did this excursion in December (06) and were VERY dissappointed in the fact that we really wanted to do the "BOND" scooters. We booked and were thrilled. When we got to the meeting place, we were informed that the "BOND" portion of the trip would not be running due to high currents, but if we wanted to still go, that we would be credited the extra money (it was) and still go and snorkel. We decided to go. Now, this was our 4th time to Cozumel and love it there. We have had wonderful experiences on all our excursions. No so with this one. We embarked the "tug" called Princess Maya (or something like that). The boat took us around our ship to the other side of the pier where we anchored. I mean, we could have jumped in at the pier and swam to where we anchored to snorkel. It was literally right on the opposite side of the ship. The boat was a tank and the snorkeling there was marginal at best. We did see a sea turtle (for the first time in the wild) so that was cool. The water is gorgeous, no doubt, but the reef was dead and almost non-existant. The staff was very friendly and the food and drinks were great, but to only go about 100 yards from where you got on the boat and stay there for the duration, it was a rip-off. We just drank plenty of Corona's and chalked it up to "not one of our better choices".

We did it about 2 years ago and by reading the above post, it hasn't changed much. It was a disappointment. The "BOND" was even a bigger disappointment. After a short introduction to the BOND, you were assigned a number. You then waited around untill your number was called. Only 3-4 could go at one time and then you had to follow a "guide" under the water for 10-15 minutes. By the time my number was called, and I finished, there was no time left to snorkle.

Check with the exercusion deck. You may be able to change events, get a credit, or get your money back.
