poolgirl3 Posted January 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Ist cruise coming up on the Wonder. It is my understanding that there is no iron in the cabins. Which I understand - it makes sense. How do you unwrinkle your clothing from being packed? Is a portable steamer allowed? Febreeze I've heard works well but is that true?

traveljen1027 Posted August 16, 2007 #7 Share Posted August 16, 2007 Can't we send items out to be pressed on board if we don't want to do it ourselves?

momof5js Posted August 17, 2007 #10 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Pack your clothes in dry cleaner bags. Hang your clothes on wire hangers & then cover with a dry cleaner plastic bag. (I bought bags for .10 cents each at our local dry cleaner). You can cover 3-4 outfits at once. Then lay your clothes in the suitcase & fold over to fit inside. We did this on our cruise last month & nothing (even my fancy dress & hubby's suits) needing pressing. I learned this tip off someone from cc a few months ago. momof5js Posted August 17, 2007 #11 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Also I read on here to hang your clothes in the bathroom & turn the shower on high & the steam will take out the wrinkles.
rrfsteve Posted August 19, 2007 #12 Share Posted August 19, 2007 Also I read on here to hang your clothes in the bathroom & turn the shower on high & the steam will take out the wrinkles. This is my fave method! As a crew mmber I done this a whole lot. If you use the tub to do this, put a little softner in the tub - it makes your clothes smell good too! cruiserbryce Posted August 20, 2007 #13 Share Posted August 20, 2007 we use the shower method...since cruise ship bathrooms are small it tends to work for us. Turn the water on hot and close the door. It will help.
red2black Posted August 20, 2007 #14 Share Posted August 20, 2007 I was just wondering where the laundry rooms are located on the Carnival lines? I think I will located by one but the ship map doesn't show in the booklet
TLHB70 Posted August 21, 2007 #15 Share Posted August 21, 2007 I also recommend Downy's Wrinkle Release. Most stores sell the travel size. It works great! I bring it on all of our vacations so that I do not have to iron.
Dubsolute Posted August 21, 2007 #16 Share Posted August 21, 2007 I can vouch for the dry cleaner bags and the shower method. I use both of these when I travel with no wrinkles to be had.
palofmine Posted August 21, 2007 #17 Share Posted August 21, 2007 You can bring travel irons, does someone in your family have one? I also have a portable steamer, its really small, you could use that! They seel them cheap!

eh2zed Posted August 22, 2007 #19 Share Posted August 22, 2007 Most lines including HAL do not allow travel irons although you can take them onboard. Another thread on wrinkling recently had a post where the individual takes a couple ounces of fabric softener in an empty spray bottle. When on the ship they mix the fabric softener with water and that works too.
