Cinderelli Posted July 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2004 Hi, we are looking for something fun for my family of 4 to do the day we return from the Conquest on our 8/29 sailing, back to New Orleans. One of the excursions listed by Carnival was thre "Sunset Airboat Cruise." Has anybody been on it? Would it be good for kids 14 & 10? Know how much it is? It says "bring insect repellent?" Is it THAT buggy? Thanks for your input!
Cotton Posted July 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2004 Yep, we get pretty buggy down here.:D 'Skeeters are BAD. That sounds like it might be one of the swamp tours? At sunset, mega mosquitos are out! I'm not familiar with that adventure, but you might check with: http://NewOrleansOnline.com for some great info on family stuff. The Aquarium of the Americas Tour is GREAT! You do the aquarium, which is spectacular - not just fish, but tropical foliage, etc. - and cruise on the John J. Audubon up the river to Audubon Zoo. I've done this several times, and love it. I also like going by (free) ferry across the river to Mardi Gras World, which is a huge warehouse with hundreds of floats, some being made as you visit. A fun thing. I think, if you go to the website I provided, you'll find lots of things that might interest you and your family. I'll be curious to see what y'all decide on!:) Have fun in our wonderful city.
