West Palm Beach to Miami Beach to Port of Miami?

We're flying into West Palm Beach the day before our May cruise. We'd like to stay in Miami Beach overnight. Can anyone recommend a hotel that offers shuttle service to the port? Would any of them offer shuttle service from the WPalm Beach airport or is that just too far? I'd really like to avoid renting a car for a one day, one way trip. ;)

Thanks!

I have homes in West Palm and Miami. It will take a good 1.25 hour to get to the port, less if traffic is ideal. I would try "super shuttle". do a web search, I don't have the number. Depending on the company, you may be able to rent a car in wpb and drop it off with no charge to miami. I have done that before and have not been charged an additional fee, but then again, it's been about 4 years since I did that. The port is too far to expect an inexpensive way other than renting a car.

Would it be more beneficial to rent a car in West Palm Beach and stay near the port, then just drive or take a cab to South Beach? What is the best way to do this?

I will look into Super Shuttle. I'm more about convenience than cost right now, although cost is certainly a factor. I just don't want to waste time getting the car, returning the car, parking, etc.

Any recommendations on a place to stay?

One of my fav. hotels in the whole country is the Marriot Biscayne Bay, a stone's throw from the port and an easy cab ride to south beach.

I'd rent the car in West Palm and drop it off in Miami. Check with Enterprise Rent a Car, you could rent from them at PBI and drive it to Miami, and see if they would pick it up from you at your hotel. I believe they have a drop off point near the port, but you'd need to check that out.
