We'll be arriving on the Destiny in late January for a cruise. What is the must see or do excursion that you would recommend? We are thinking about the Winifred excursion but not totally sure yet. Thank you!

Hawksnest was our favorite. It's smaller than Trunk and Cinnamon and it doesn't have the amenities they do but it was quiet and peaceful and that's what we liked about it (and we also got remarried on Hawksnest so we're a little partial to it:) ).

Comparing Trunk to Cinnamon, we liked them both although I thought Cinnamon was a little prettier, but they're all beautiful so you really can't go wrong no matter which beach you choose. I was a little disappointed in the snorkel trail at Trunk, the snorkeling wasn't as good as other places we had snorkeled (although Trunk was the only place we saw a turtle while snorkeling). But the view from the Trunk Bay overlook is stunning. These are only 3 of the many beaches on St John but these 3 are all close to each other and the easiest and quickest for cruiseship passengers to get to. Hawksnest is first, then Trunk, then Cinnamon. Trunk Bay has an entrance fee, the others don't.

Here's a link to a great 3-page beach guide to the St John beaches...
