hues of blue Posted January 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2007 we will be in belize in feb and want to go to caye caulker for some beach time. if we take the water taxie over there, then what?? is there a charge at all to be on the island? where is the beach for hanging out on compared to where the boat lets you off at? any help would be greatly appreciated. There is no charge to be on the island, however, there is very little beach for hanging out, swimming, and snorkeling. Some people swim from the many piers there. We took the water taxi over and went with a private tour for snorkeling out on the reef. There is one area called 'The Split' about 5-10 minutes from where they drop you off where some people swim and there is a popular bar there called the "Lazy Lizard'. Also, check out, 'The Sand Box' which is a bar/restaurant with a sand floor that is right by the water taxi drop off. Some people like to rent golf carts and cruise around the island. Have fun!
