Traveling with Byetta or insulin

I recently purchased something called Frio. It is a pouch with crystals that turn into a cold gel when soaked in water. It is supposed to keep my medication cold for several days when reativated with water now and then. I tried it out today and although it reacts as it says it should, I do not feel it is cold enough for my Byetta pen. Has anyone else ever heard of this? Has anyone ever used one? Up until now I have been using a freezer pack made for this medication, it works well but I need to rely on hotels to keep the pack frozen at night. There has been problems with that. I ordered this Frio pouch hoping to eliminate those problems. Byetta must be kept cold, insulin, on the other hand, can be at room temperature for a good while.
