I don't think you mentioned which cruise you are going on but whichever, I hope you have a great time. You are lucky to have a generous sister. Please remember us when you return and come back to CC to let everyone here know how it went.

Hi, We are sailing 9/4/04 on the Sea to Western Carribbean out of Houston. We read so many bad and good reviews that we were unsure of how our trip might turn out but have decided that we will have a wonderful time just spending seven days together- just us.This is my first and her second cruise. I really think that it will be just what me make of it and we are very excited about it. I have nothing to compare it to so I am sure that I will have a wonderful experience. Thanx, DJDQ :p

You make me smile.

First let me say that just between you and I,I am in the exact same line of work as your Ms.Mulvale, except one level lower and am as honest as the day is long.It gets me in an awful lot of trouble down here.I say it like it is.Next time I aim for her level of job. That is not a big secret here.

As for excursions, we are going to Universal on our own.We are renting a car and I am riding the Hulk.I was to afraid the last time I was there so I am doing it this time.

In Nassau we are going to Atlantis by cab and walk around,I have enough casinos here so we will be simply sightseeing as there is not enough time there.

Miami we may just stay on the boat.In my line of work it is go,go,go and with 4 kids on top of that so I would like to go at my own pace and try to relax.

Maybe you could help me on something.I booked GTY and within a week was assigned a room, a mini AG.Do I still have a chance for an upgrade?

I lost this post for a while.I thought they had deleted it for some reason.I look forward to your response.

When I was booked on Norwegian Star I had booked a guarantee and that is how it was listed on the booking confirmation I got from my TA. (That was at the very end of October.)

When I made the final payment on the cruise (early Feb. I think) the new sheet I got, confirming final payment, showed we had been assigned a room number.

I called and asked my TA if that meant that would definately be our room and she said if the room number was shown it wouldn't be changed.

Sure enough, when we received out travel docs (around mid-March) the same room number was on them. I think that that was final. I can't be 100% sure because a week or two later NCL cancelled the cruise, so we never got to show up at the pier and verify that we did get the same room. I think that it is extremely unlikely that it would have changed though.

I think that if you have beeen assigned a room number that will be it for you, unless you manage to buy an upgrade at some point between now and the cruise.

A mini-suite AG is nice.It has a balcony for breakfast although I read somewhere there is no overhang.I tried to upsell but my TA is away for 2 weeks and whn she did try she said that to go from an AG to AE would be $600ppUS.I passed, there has to be better deals.I have checked occupancy and all lower cabins are gone but not the suites. Most are still there.Maybe that is why price is so high still.

We will enjoy it no matter what.I am very grateful to be going. My sister found out this week the cancer is not in her liver,it was a fatty mass(thank goodness)but our trips back and forth to Sunnbrook are tiring.I hate the QEW.
