not sure, I had heard about the evac, but not the status.

Formal nights for Western are Monday and I thought Thursday because we left Grand Cayman earlier than Coz, so we had plenty of time to get ready? I could be wrong.

Yep ! we have always had them on Monday and Thursday nights on Western.

We had 6225 and did not notice any difference from our midship Verandah cabin we had the cruise before' date=' as far as movement/noise/wind. Did not hear any noise from theater either. I don't think there is a "bad" balcony on the Conquest! going on our 4th and trying the aft this time. :)[/color']

Which aft will you have? We just got off the conquest and had an aft on deck 8, very nice and the balcony was extended!

I know everyone asks about room numbers on here, so now it's my turn..

Our first time cruising with carnival (going on conquest) and we got room 2365 oceanview. Our TA said it is midship and a good location. Any thoughts? Thnx!

it's a little back of midship and right next to the elevators so there may be the possibility of traffic noise...but that said i was on deck 2 before and had no complaints.

We, too, just got off The Conquest on the 19th. I was also wondering about the older woman that was medically evacuated. Her family member was also very visibly upset, understandably. We had a balcony on the Lido 9267, the location was great. Very little motion felt forward. We loved staying on the Lido. Cut elevator time greatly. Convenient to everything. My sister had aft balcony 7442, lot of vibration in the back, and very hot on the balcony with no cover. She didn't think she would book an aft cabin again, of course, this is a personal preference.

We've book room 8229 for New Years and I've been considering upgrading to 9229 on the lido deck. Did you hear a lot of noise from the band and music on the lido deck?

Lido Cabin #9267 was more mid-ship near the elevators. We did not hear any Lido noise, unless we went on the balcony, and then you could hear some. We brought a small fan, as we always do, which could have drowned out other noises. We loved staying on The Lido, and in the future we will only book on this deck. My sons had an inside cabin #9247, they heard nothing and felt no motion, this cabin is more forward than we had. We also had friends staying in #9262 --balcony and #9260, inside cabin. Total of 4 of us had cabins on Lido, and all of us, ranging in age from 20-75, loved the Lido location.

On our 8/23 cruise we want to definitely see the ruins. Has anyone done a Mayan Ruins excursion in Mexico? Is it better to book through the ship or a private company?

Thanks!

Alyce,

We will be on the Conquest 8-30, we have and Aft. extended balcony (7446). What cabin did you have and how did you like it?

Thanks,

Doug

Doug,

Our first cruise on the Conquest was cabin 7444, and we LOVED being on the aft, great location, plenty of storage, and fun lking with the others on the aft.

Most would go out onto their balcony during sail-away or prior to dinner and we would all talk about the excursions or what we had done during the sea day.

If you stand at the rail, you can see all the cabins on either side of you, and also the people above and below: But if you're sitting or standing closer to the balcony door, no one can see you unless they lean around the divider. In my opinion, it was the best of both worlds :D.

Unfortunately, I started reading more and more cruise critic posts, and found out about the aft-wraps; now we are spoiled, spoiled, spoiled.

Has anyone had this cabin or an inside cabin close to it? I've been on the Conquest once before but we had an ocean view on the Riviera Deck. How do the inside cabins compare to the outside cabins in size?

How is the shower? The outside cabin had a good size shower. Is the inside the same or do we have to shower in a coffin??? Well we are going on the Halloween cruise:eek: Also does the inside have a blowdryer, makeup mirror, and a fridge like the outside does?

We got off on the 19th and I am late in commenting. We started with cabin 6363. It is directly over the casino band. Every time they started to play the floor of our cabin vibrated. We could hear every note/word. It was impossible to sleep! Fortunately we were moved to 1105. The cabin was identical to the original except that IT WAS QUIET! It was wonderful!!! It's amazing how a good nights sleep can improve a cruise and we ended having a wonderful time.

All the cabins on our end of the hall had the same problem. I do not understand how Carnival can continue to sell those cabins without a noise warning (like a sight obstructed warning).

Does anyone have any experience with the aft cabins on the Riveria deck. I guess it is not actually aft, though I don't exactly know what they are called, Starboard aft or port aft? Anyway the cabins I am asking about are 1408, 1412 and 1416. Are we going to get engine noise in these cabins?

We will be on the Conquest on 8/23. My question is about opening the balcony doors. We have 3 cabins in a row. I read somewhere that these doors could only be opened while in port. Is this still true? I was on the Carnival Pride several years on the Mexican Riviera, and the doors were opened at the beginning of the trip and left that way the entire trip. We were hoping to do that again. Please let me know. Thanks

ADDBOY,

May I send you my e-mail address? I would love to have copies of the menu. Do you know if the menus are the same in the two main dinning rooms?

Thank You

Menus are identical. Send away!

When you get on the ship just go to the Purser's desk and ask them to open the doors for you. You will need a passenger from each of the affected cabins for them to grant your request. I also read on here somewhere that you could do it yourself w/a 1/4" square driver, but that might be risky

I know some of you wanted recent Capers from the Conquest so I quickly scanned the info and put it on snapfish in a group. Here is the url: carnivalcapers.snapfish.com/snapfish, not sure if you have to belong to Snapfish to get on or not.

That's the best I could do right now, hope it helps!!

Elaine

Thanks for the very swift reply. Will they leave the doors open the entire trip, or do they close them when we leave the ports?
