em_in_murphy Posted January 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2007 I am booked in 8036 but noticed 8580 is open. Should I request the change? Is this part of the AFT cabins that everyone talks about?

Absolutely! Grab it now!!!!! Sailed in 8082 Aft JS last year on the Splendour. Huge balcony!! Don't miss this chance to sail in an Aft JS.
em_in_murphy Posted January 22, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted January 22, 2007 Are all the AFT the same size or are the balconies a little different? Is it bumpy back there?
Fury1995 Posted January 22, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 22, 2007 Are all the AFT the same size or are the balconies a little different? Is it bumpy back there? Here is a picture of a AFT JS on deck on the Splendour. Not bumpy either. The Gulf is typically smooth.
Fury1995 Posted January 22, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 22, 2007 Your cabin would be the top right balcony on the ship pictured on the left. (This was Costa Maya BTW) The balconies in the back are usually the same size. The deck 8 balconies give you all the sun though.

em_in_murphy Posted January 22, 2007 Author #8 Share Posted January 22, 2007 Just curious, what did you do in Costa Maya? Did you go to Mahahual (sp?) beach? What "bar" did you hang out at if you did? Thanks.
Fury1995 Posted January 22, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 22, 2007 The actual port area itself is enclosed and is mostly built by the cruiselines. There is a fresh water pool right in the middle of the shopping plaza that is also surrounded by bars and restaurants. Each time I've been there, I've eaten at Bandito's. Love the authentic food and they have great triple Margherita's. Shopping is ok as well if your looking for the usual stuff. Every time we've been there, we try to take an excursion that gets us out of the port area for at least 4 or 5 hours. The area just south is pretty much unspoiled by the commercialism. The last time we went we swam with the dolphins. Here is the link: http://www.delphinusworld.com/index.php Swimming with the dolphins is life changing. Great beach there as well.
