My partner and I are interested in the Grand Caribbean Islander on the Sea Princess. I haven't read the best reviews on this ship but the itinerary is awesome. We've been on the Golden and the Dawn and we loved it. We play bingo, go to the shows, casino, activities, average cruisers (24 at the time of the cruise). We love cruising, but the reviews have me frightened.

Please bring me to my senses, or recommend other 10-14 day/night cruises that you think we'd enjoy.

Edited to add:

The Crown has a cruise leaving out of San Juan that looks interesting, however it only has 2 sea days the entire trip, we enjoy sea days, they are relaxing. How is the atmosphere and staff on the Crown?

If you enjoyed the Dawn Princess, I think you will also like the Sea Princess. Only real difference between the two is that the casino on the Sea is about half the size. Cut down to make room for board and card playing tables on one side of the casino that the British seem to use a lot. Other than that, both the Dawn and the Sea are equal.

There have been some negative reviews about the SEA lately, but I think there are far more positive comments from recent cruisers who loved it.

We're sailing that itinerary on the SEA in 23 days, and fully expect to have a wonderful time. I'll post our comments soon after we get back on March 3rd.

P.S. I live in southern Hillsborough County !!!

We sailed on her xmas and new year and had a fab time, no complaints about anything. Back on her in the Med in the summer and parents who travelled with us at xmas were first time cruisers and loved it too, they have now booked for 2008.

Enjoy whichever you decide on.

We live in Riverview! We aren't too far away.

It's kind of fun to find someone from near home on these boards.

We also loved the Sea Princess 0 they do cater a bit to the Britts but even that was fun!

I'm in Temple Terrace-only 20 miles away!

Hi There,

I think the only thing you will find on the Sea is more Brits, have done Sea and Sun, the Sea is good having MUTS but the Sun has a good Casino.

The ports are the most important so I would let the cruise you want be the one you go on the ship is not that important.
