muffydawg Posted January 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2007 The ship docks in Venice at 5:00am. Once customs clears the ship, disembarkation will begin. Is a 12:55 pm flight out of VCE cutting it too close on disembarkation day if cruise (RCCL) transfers are used? We plan on flying to LGW and then spending a few days in London before lfying back.... Balliett Posted January 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2007 You should have no problem being at the airport by 10am. A taxi or arranged limo would be quicker and cheaper (I'd bet), though.
ShipsandDipper Posted January 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Royal Caribbean told me not to book a flight earlier than 10:30 a.m. So you should be fine with one after noon.

We had a 1pm flight, and we were fine. Be aware you will get to the airport really early and they will not start checking you in until it is about 2 hours before your flight. (Unless that differs with the airline) There were not many places to sit. Then when you get to the gate there was no rhyme or reason how you got on the plane...it was a free for all! No announcements were made either.. We flew from Venice to Milan and then on to NY. Good luck!
sammiedawg Posted February 10, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2007 I have read lots of conflicting info on these boards and in guide books about transportation airport to ship and ship to airport in Venice. When taxi is mentioned, is this water taxi? If you book the cruise line transfer, is it a bus, water taxi? Anyone have a shuttle service to recommend? Thanks so much

Confusion, no announcements, etc. is their speciality. Don't blame the airport for that. Paul
Captain Canuck Posted February 12, 2007 #7 Share Posted February 12, 2007 where the ship docks is close to the main transportation hub for Venice...you can get a land taxi to the airport...cruise ship shuttle might be easier to arrange
