alaskan cruise tax

Has anyone heard anything about it? Has anyone been told to paid it when they make their final payment?

We booked our 6/20/07 Alaska cruise more than a year in advance, well before the Alaska tax was implemented. We have received letters from Princess telling us about the tax and that the extra $$$ will be added to our final price, but so far, our balance hasn't changed...
