Try the Hyatt Regency Jersey City: brand new, 5 miles from the pier, and has beautiful river views... Prices aren't terrible, either.

No hotels in Bayonne; suggestion of Jersey City Hyatt is a good one and about your most convenient choice

My daughter stayed at the Best Western in Elizabeth City????...any ways it had a shuttle to the pier and they had a shuttle from the pier to the airport. An OK hotel...nothing to write home about.

Newark AP is actually in Elizabeth. There are a # of comfortable, clean hotels right there, close to the AP w/ free shuttle service, at least to the AP. They aren't anything to write home about but they are convenient, clean & reasonably safe. They are also names you've heard of: comfort inn, cest western etc.

 

I'm sure there's a flea bag in Bayonne somewhere, but nothing I'd stay in. Where in Jersey City is the new Hyatt, down by the water?

The Hyatt Jersey City is right on the water in that big park, actually a really nice location...
