Oriana in San Francisco

I still think she is a pretty ship. I did sail twice on the original Oriana, back in '64 and again in '72.

SF Chronicle had it all wrong the other day in the article on QE2 being in town - when it said the "new" Oriana was making its first call in San Francisco. She has been here everal times.

The Chron also got it all wrong again later, when Carl Nolte, talking about QM2, talked about her displacement, along with a couple of other ships' displacements, when he meant Gross Tonnage. Nolte should know better, he was able to go with Jeremiah O/Brien when she went back to Normandy for the D-Day events a few years back, and wrote some excellent pieces about that trip.

Hi,

You may like to see some photos of Oriana leaving Southampton in October. I took them from our hotel as we waited for our cruise on Arcadia the next day.

We are sailing on Oriana in November.
