kidfanz Posted July 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2004 I am looking for a good beach to rent surf boards and surf for beginners. And/Or, lessons if there are any
spleen93 Posted July 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2004 Doesn't Kaanapali Beach offer surfing lessons? I'm pretty sure that they do. That'd be a great beach to learn on - nice gentle surf. Reminiscent of Waikiki Beach. Spleen
theawesome1 Posted July 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2004 Beach before Ritz Carlton on the North Shore is the surfer heaven. You climb a massive staircase to get too it. I just sit atop & watch the show. The beach at the Ritz Carlton is world known from fashion magazines to surfers. We have a timeshare at Embassy on Kaanapali Beach & waves unless there is a storm coming are far & few. At least we don't see jelly fish as the folks at 4 Seasons at Wailea do. I was stung 13 years ago during our first visit & we drove to the opposite side of the island (W Maui Mountain) area and what a difference. So we stayed at Embassy & quickly bought 2 weeks and love it.
spleen93 Posted July 29, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2004 Unfortunately, depending on the moon, jellys will hit all south facing shorelines when they come ... that does include the majority of Lahaina/Kaanapali Beach as well. It's just the luck of the draw to some extent. Spleen
