Dress Code for 1 day Pre-Innaugural...

Trying this again...Is there anyone out there that has been on a 1 day pre-innaugural sailing that can tell me the dress code? Being that there's only one dinner and I assume there will be lots of VIPs, etc onboard, is it typically a formal dinner?

I went on the one-night on Freedom last year and it was pretty much a free-for-all. The invitation said business casual, I think. People were definitely in shorts during the day. Dinner was not "formal", but people wore every range of clothing. I wore a dress and felt like I fit in.

We ended up dressing nicely (not too formal for dinner). I wore a dress as did DM and most ladies were either in dresses or nice pant suits.
