Amazon cruise recommendations?

Has anyone taken a cruise on the Amazon, coming or going? What excursions would you recommend?

Look down the board a few days back to somewhere near the end of June/2004 beginning of July 2004. I wrote a very extensive review of the Amazon cruise took on the Royal in April 2004. If you have any further questions from there post them. It is a fabulous region and I loved every minute of it. In Manaus if you are looking to stay at a hotel I would recommend the Tropical Hotel, but if you want to be right downtown the Taj Mahal is very convenient it just isn't as nice.

 

You definitely can book private tours once you are there or ahead of time, there is no need to be at the mercy of the ships tours. There is a lot of tourism there. We used the services of Luciana at viverde. I have her e-mail and website contact info on my review.
