Fact vs. Postings

Good Monring All,

I normally do not respond to post like this however I am finding more whinners lately and it just annoying, People complaining about pizza on a crusie ship? Are you for real? Now diapers in the adult pool - I would not have to wait for CCL to enforce the rules - I would speak up myself. I do not want to swim in pissy water. Possibly the potty swimmers "parents" are not aware of the rule. (these are the same people that swim in their toilets anyway) As for showing up late for dinner - I must agree it is rude. I personally could care less about dinner. Between all the ports and partying during the day - I am just too tired to get all dressed up to eat a steak.. (just me) Now sobering up for the disco is another story... lol

Just go have fun. Stop complaining. After all the money and time you spent planning your trip your going to remember how bad the pizza is and you did not get a free ($1.00) deck of cards? Get over it.

I realized the holes in my hands had closed up along time ago and when I went to walk on water I sank. I just accept it and move on. Life is too short to care if things are not perfect.

I hope your next cruise will be better.

After reading this board for months and having just returned from the Spirt(2-3-07) I would like to point out some posting errors.

You can not get playing cards free from the putsers desk, you must buy them in the casino for $1.00 a pack.

You can not enter the dining room more than 20 mins late. Wrong,I saw people enter 30-45 mins late and it did not throw service. We had our entries while they had soup, we had dessert while they had salad.

There are no waffles in the dining room for breakfast.

They do not enforse the adults only hot tub.

They do not enforce the baby in diapers in the pools.

Pizza, ceaser salad, and warm melting cake.

If this was your first cruise or if you are from a area with no good resterants I'm sure you would think they were great.

Pizza lacked flavor and had a cardboard tasteing crust.

Ceaser salad was nothing more than wilted greens, rock hard curtons and parm cheese. This was in the dining room, room service and the supper club.

Warm melting cake, get over it folks,I can make better a home.

These were some of the items posted that were not quite right. The wealth of imformation on this board is great and I'm looking forwerd to reading posting about the Legend for our July cruise.

Thank-you and always cruise happy.

I couldn't agree more!

The playing cards are free and they taste like cardboard.

They now charge for the free pizza.

The chocolate melting cake NEVER melts! Mine only becomes digested.

The 'curtons' in my dining room salads are always waffled!

All adults in the kiddie pool were wearing diapers!

And one last thing; my opinion is as close to 'fact' as yours. :)

We got free playing cards from the Purser's Desk when we were on the Conquest last month.

Loved the goat cheese pizza! Had it several times. It was called "margharita" (sp?) and it was really good.

"Discovered" the warm chocolate melting cake on the 3rd night in the dining room. By the end of the cruise, all 4 of us were ordering it everynight for dessert.

Guess it all depends on your likes and dislikes. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla. Did you like anything about your cruise?

Never said I didn't like my cruise and I'm not grumpy, my brain is not frozen and I have eatten good pizza(Wolgf Gang Puck,Sammies Wood Fired,California Pizza Kitchen and Ray's)even though I'm from Maine( which even with the cold and snow is a safe, clean place to live). I'm also not the best speller around. Maybe I just don't know how to post the right way, I'll try and do better with my review of the cruise which was very nice and I plan on crusing with CCL in July 2007 and Jan 2008. Remember this site has the word critic in the title and sometimes not everything is rosey, if you want to read only positive reviews read cruise travel mag. I

Thank-you.:)

Sorry, rucruizin, I think I misunderstood and thought your comment about the salad being fishy was because you didn't know why it tasted that way. Some people don't know that anchovies are in caesar salad and I thought you might be one of those people. I don't like fish, but, for some reason, I like Carnival's caesar salad. My hubby looks at me, perplexed, every time I eat one. I think the first 6 or 7 times I had one, he would say, "You know there are anchovies in that?" haha.

Did I tell someone to get over something? or was that to another poster? I am confused.

THE OP!

Said about the chocolate melting cake..."Get Over It People"

Only the firts few lines were meant in direct response to your post. Everything else was either directed at the OP, or said in a general context.

No Worries...:D

I happen to think the pizza is very good on Carnival. Then again, I'm sure the pizza is much better in Maine compared to the pizza I'm used to eating in NY.

Too Funny! It's even funnier when you read the pizza the OP does think is good.

Fact: I'm glad I live in Florida, not Maine (or anywhere else north of Orlando) -- I think my brain would freeze. :p

I'm originally from Orlando, so I completely understand!

I have eatten good pizza(Wolgf Gang Puck,Sammies Wood Fired,California Pizza Kitchen and Ray's)

You really think those are good pizzas? I gotta believe you are kidding.

Everyone has their own tastes and opinions about EVERYTHING.

You have to remember that on a message board (or any email for that matter) the readers cannot hear the tone of the OP's voice. Sometimes posts are misunderstood because of this.

After 8 cruises on Carnival, I have come to believe that each ship is essentially treated as its own company. There are a few major policies that EVERYONE has to follow, but for the little things, they get to set their own policies.

As far as the cards go, I have had them in my cabin upon arrival. I have picked them up at the purser's desk for free. I have bought them in the gift shop. I have gotten them for free and for .50 at the casino. I have been told at the casino that they were no longer available. Different ship, different story.

I ALWAYS ask for cards on the ship. I am a Girl Scout leader (for better or worse) and those girls go through cards like crazy. I don't care for the free cards you get with the Carnival ship on them. they are not very good quality. If they get slightly damp, they swell up and become unusable. I would most definitely prefer to pay for the good quality casino decks. They can take a lickin'. :D And $1 for a good quality deck of cards is totally worth it in my opinion.

Well aren't you just a warm fuzzy ball of sunshine this morning?

I happen to love the warm chocolate melting cake AND yes, I got free playing cards from the pursers desk too!:p

LMAO....someone with my sense of humor.

I too have gotten free cards....actually, on every cruise...non Carnival ones as well.

So many folks out here try and pass off opinions as facts.

You have no way of knowing if the poster has even been on a cruise much less know what they are talking about.

There is lots of great info out here but it's always a good to check out what you read on any internet board including this one:)

Hi fellow cruisers:

Have been on quite a few Carnival Ships as well as some other lines. One thing I have learned if you take all the good and all the bad the good has always far exceded the bad. It sounds that the thread poster spent most of his time watching who came in late, who got free cards, etc. and didn't just focus on having a great time. If a deck of cards for $1.00, free, or 2 for 1 is the problem send me your address and I'll mail you a carnival deck. Kind of old though as some from Tropical, festivale and many others. Use to put two or three decks in your cabin. We usually traveled with others and usually to much going on to play cards other than in the casino. Go back on your next cruise and look for the positive things. Life's way to short.

Wishing all smooths seas, short lines and good prices to keep all of us CRUISE JUNKIES Happy. Bob & Nancy The Villages Florida:) :) :)

I was also on Spirit 1/26/07 to 2/3/07. The pursers desk said if you want cards go to casino and buy them.

The Dirty Banana and the Kiss on the lips were great. The chocolate melting cake was a lot like a souflet. I learned about all of them here but the cards were not available last week on Carnival Spirit.

No complaint just a fact.

The deck of cards controversy totally cracks me up! It seems to be the one mystery CC'ers can't get to the bottom of. I don't even play cards, but now I wish I'd asked for some at the Purser's Desk, just to see what the outcome would be.

You can not get playing cards free from the putsers desk, you must buy them in the casino for $1.00 a pack.

You CAN get "Carnival" playing cards at the PURSERS desk.

You optionally can purchase USED CASINO cards in the Casino.

You can not enter the dining room more than 20 mins late. Wrong,I saw people enter 30-45 mins late and it did not throw service. We had our entries while they had soup, we had dessert while they had salad.

I have sat by the doors to the DR and they are closed within 1/2 hour of the start time.

There are no waffles in the dining room for breakfast.

Waffles are available in the DR not in the buffet.

They do not enforse the adults only hot tub.

I have never seen this rule ENFORCED.

Unless you consider 12 year olds adiults.

They do not enforce the baby in diapers in the pools.

I have not seen this rule enforced either.

Pizza, ceaser salad, and warm melting cake.

Pizza lacked flavor and had a cardboard tasteing crust.

I agree pizza is passable but nothing to write home about.

Ceaser salad was nothing more than wilted greens, rock hard curtons and parm cheese. This was in the dining room, room service and the supper club.

Ceasar salad has always been good, not great but good.

Warm melting cake, get over it folks,I can make better a home.

Have never had this dessert.

Maybe they ran out and did not want to say that.

I have never had a problem getting cards, sometimes they even give me 2 decks at once.
