FireChap Posted July 28, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2004 We are considering a cruise of the Hawaiin Islands in May, 2005. I believe we emark from Honolulu and cruise to two or three islands. What is the nature of the ocean, rough, etc.? Would appreciate comments pro and con as we attempt to make a decision.
spleen93 Posted July 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2004 May should not be too bad in terms of sailing conditions around the islands. Conditions will probably not be as calm as say ... sailing the Inside Passage near Alaska. But it'll be more calm than in a crossing (Atlantic or Pacific). Is this your first cruise you're considering? Which cruise line are you thinking of? Spleen
KTE Posted July 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2004 On our 3 interisland cruises, the only time I noticed (very briefly) any rough seas was rounding the North shore of the Big Island on our way to Hilo; otherwise, it was smooth sailing all the way. FireChap Posted July 31, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted July 31, 2004 We've cruised Alaska, the Caribbean, and Mexico. The ship is Pride of Aloha with NCL. Thanks for the responses.
