edwar2cf Posted February 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Is it difficult to get a taxi when we disemabark? We would like to carry our own luggage off and get a taxi to the hotel where our car will be, rather than wait for the hotel shuttle. Also, we want to take a taxi from the hotel to the port. With Galveston being kind of a small city, I'm wondering if it can support enough taxis that for the 2 days of the week when ships are in port, and how much trouble we'll have getting one. You are thinking quite correctly, there are taxi's, but not that many due to Galveston's size. We got one without problems when we did self debarkation and parked at the La Quinta. There didn't seem to be that many there though. When you get on the sidewalk go all the way to the right (north) for the taxi stand.
ginag Posted February 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2007 We've never had a problem getting a taxi to and from the terminal. When you are ready to go to the ship, call about an hour ahead of time. They will ask you how many people and luggage you have. There are always plenty of taxi's lined up at the terminal for cruise passengers that are returning from their cruise. We've never had to wait! Enjoy!
