Has the Casino been good to anyone on the CP?

I understand the time to hit the slots are on the first and last days.

I'll tell you thats a myth and there's a reason why they call them the best money maker for any casino whether at sea or on land...they are GARBORATORS nothing more...you could hit it at any time but the odds are no better at the start or end of a cruise.

There is NO time that slots are better or worse, the chips in them don't know what day of the week it is. Bottom line, slots are the most superstitious and poorly understood of all gambling devices. There is NO good way to play slots. The house advantage is several times higher than on most table games, some obvious exceptions "let it ride, 3 card poker" etc.

My father has this theory that they throw some kind of switch in the cage after the first day to "tighten up" the slots. Yeah right!

Let me tell you....I always did not believe that the machines were touched until my last cruise on the Car. Princess. The first night my brother, a friend, a friend's brother and myself were at the slots four right next to each other. We were all hitting big wins over and over again. We all walked away with a couple of hundred of dollars. The rest of the cruise....we gave them back what we won and more. The first night so many people were winning, at the end of the cruise....not as much noise. I still have mixed thoughts about this subject but for four of us to keep hitting and then all of a sudden loose a little each night the rest of the week????

I believe that they must do something to attract the people and then 'suck' you in the keep on coming back every night.

 

This will not keep me out of the casino, I just won't get upset. Once my alotment for the night is gone, I'm done. I just hope I walk out with their money! :)

On the Pride, we saw some guy drop $20,000 on the crap table and he walked away mad.

 

I've never won on the slots, I play $20.00 a night and when that's gone, I leave. I did see one lady hit a $1,000 jackpot--it's always the other person who wins.

I've ranted about this before, so I'll be brief this time. The casinos on cruise ships are generally quite tight. They were bad before the Ocean Players' Club (Carnival) took over their operation, and IMO they are worse after the fact. The only saving grace is the the blackjack is still relatively good, albeit table limits for the pure game tend to be high. This forces most people to play higher house-edge variants if they want lower limits. I'll see if I can find the thread that has my more detailed comments and add a link to it.
