What Cities for Port Canaveral

The port itself actually has a great website. Lots of info about the port, cruising, which rental car agencies have port area drop offs, hotels, attractions, and surrounding communities. After some research we decided to stay in Cocoa Beach.

Here's the port website : http://www.portcanaveral.org/funport/vacations.htm

I suspect you are flying into Orlando. If so, you have some options. Basically Orlando hotels, Disney area, Universal area, etc or you can stay in the Port Canaveral/Cocoa Beach area. Orlando is about an hour from Port Canaveral. Your choice depends on when you want to drive or be shuttled that hour. Stay in Orlando and visit Downtown Disney or a Disney park and drive to the port the next day or drive the day you arrive and stay at a hotel near the beach and ship.
