Just off the Valor - Did golf carts in Costa Maya!

We just got off the Valor this past weekend. DD and her DH had been in Costa Maya before and loved it. We went with them last week and we are a believer - it is a wonderful stop. I liked it much better than Cozumel. They had rented golf carts when they were there last time, so we did again this time. We had a blast. Carts are available to rent by going behind the pink building. Can't be booked prior to arriving there. There were 7 of us, we rented 2 carts. They give you a map and tell you the route, saying to go around a football field to get back. Honestly we didn't see a football field, so just kept going down the road to the end - as did most of the other carts. We stopped a few times to take pictures but otherwise just drove around. It cost $30 for 2 hours, which is what we did, and it was plenty of time. If you wanted to stop at a beach or bar, it's an additional $15/hour, or $65 for the day. It was money well spent, we had a ball!

Did you have to take the bus to Majahual to get the taxi or did you get it at the dock? We are thinking of getting the golf carts for the day and checking out Maya Luna and Las Uvas. There will be 3 ships in port so we are trying to get away from the crowds a little.

Hi, just want to get this straight in my mind.:p

When arriving at Costa Maya, get off ship, walk to area built by cruise ships - then......

Do you go outside of this area thru the exits they don't want you to use???

When you say "We rented the golf cart right behind the shops right next to the pier then drove the golf carts to Majahaul. It's about a 10 minute ride from where we rented the carts." Are you now outside the "walls" or still within the "tourist" area with the pool, etc.

We want to rent golf carts and with another ship in that day, would you recommend getting right off the ship. Can you take the cart to the Cats Meow......

Thank you:)

Hi, at a recommendation of another poster, we went to web site and rented golf carts. I don't know if there is more than one vendor:eek:

But the pricing sounds the same.

Would appreciate any answers that we are doing the right thing?????
