Lunch in ST. Thomas

We just missed the noon ferry so we ate lunch at High Tide Bar and Grill adjacent to the pier. We enjoyed the Virgin Island Pale Ale (a fruity beer made for distribution in St. John by a brewery in Maine), and especially liked the sweet mango salsa which accompanies the chips and salsa appetizer. I think my wife and I had a jerk chicken wrap which was pretty good.

Our favorite restaurant in downtown Charlotte Amalie (the shopping district where you MUST visit) is Herve Restaurant. We have eaten there twice. They are just a short walk up a hill at the beginning of Main St. but the view is UNBELIEVABLE! there are windows all around so you can see the harbor and the town.

The food matches the view. You can have local or American or French.

Once you go there, you will return again and again. (The waitress gave me good shopping advice, too!).
