CaribbeanBound Posted February 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2007 We just missed the noon ferry so we ate lunch at High Tide Bar and Grill adjacent to the pier. We enjoyed the Virgin Island Pale Ale (a fruity beer made for distribution in St. John by a brewery in Maine), and especially liked the sweet mango salsa which accompanies the chips and salsa appetizer. I think my wife and I had a jerk chicken wrap which was pretty good. Here are our Secrets of the Caribbean! http://www.lavasurfer.com/info/caribbean-secrets.html These are our very detailed personal reviews, hints, and tips for ports of call that you will be visiting. The Islander Posted February 19, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2007 Downtown you could try Cafe Amici for good pasta, pizza. Amalia Cafe is another nice choice. Cuzzins or Gladys for Caribbean dishes. --Islander
Xenia Posted May 4, 2007 #7 Share Posted May 4, 2007 Our favorite restaurant in downtown Charlotte Amalie (the shopping district where you MUST visit) is Herve Restaurant. We have eaten there twice. They are just a short walk up a hill at the beginning of Main St. but the view is UNBELIEVABLE! there are windows all around so you can see the harbor and the town. The food matches the view. You can have local or American or French. Once you go there, you will return again and again. (The waitress gave me good shopping advice, too!).
