lovemydogs Posted February 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2007 My husband and I are sailing on the Summit to Hawaii leaving 3/3/07. We are currently in a CC room on deck 9, but we are really thinking about paying to upgrade to a suite. The website says these are sold out. Has anyone found there to be open suites even when they are listed as sold out online?? We are looking forward to the trip no matter what room we are in, but a little splurge on ourselves would sure be nice! Thanks, Heather
RLM77 Posted February 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2007 It's unlikely that there are any available. Suites generate more revenue for the cruise line than standard cabins, so it's hard to make a case for any secret hold-backs. There's always the chance of a last minute cancellation though, so it can't hurt to keep an eye on the web site and ask at check-in. By the way, we will be on this cruise with you, also on deck 9. Be sure to sign up for the cruise critic party (link is at the top right of this page -- it's marked "Join the Party"). We are also theater lovers. Being near the Canadian border in Michigan, do you ever make it the Stratford Festival? We are regular attendees.
lovemydogs Posted February 14, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted February 14, 2007 Thank you for the reply! That's kinda' what I figured, but I thought I'd ask! I've been to the Stratford Festival twice-- had a marvelous time! What a great little town!! Heather
dlhamlten Posted February 14, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2007 ........going to the Cruisecompetedotcom site and asking for Quotes ? This is a quick way to see if any of the many online Agencies they include may have in their inventory of "Held Cabins" a Suite that you want. Perhaps one of their customers has had to cancel their Suite. We just booked the Summit Hawaii Circle a week or so ago for an October sailing and one Agency had a coveted CC Aft Balcony which we grabbed ! They reserve a bunch of them as soon as they can and know they will be sold. Otherwise, have you asked Celebrity if they have a Suite waitlist ?
