How do you do a search on this forum?

I've been using this forum for several years and have not been able to master how to search for a topic. Can someone help? Please be specific, as I have tried several times.

Here is my very non-technical description:

 

Look at the Holland America home page, the page where all the threads are listed. Do you see the thick blue line that says "Threads in Forum"? Do you see immediately to the right of that, where it says "forum tools" and "search this forum"? Click on "search this forum". In the white box which will then appear, write, using one or two words at most, what it is you are searching for. You have an option to show "threads" or "posts" which contain the words you have requested. The reason I say "one or two words" is because in my experience, the search feature here can't handle requests with a lot of words.
