Pearl Island stingray/ snorkel???

?? Pearl Island stingray/snorkeling-> CARNIVAL?

Has any one done the pearl island bahamas stingray & snorkeling thru carnival? It is only $60 pp is it worth it, and any info about it would be great. (Sensation 4day 3/4/07) This is my first cruise and I don't want to do something that is boring or tacky. Does any 1 know if this is a caged or more open setting?

We did the snorkel excursion on Pearl Island Oct. 2006. We didn't swim with the rays but we saw them. They are fenced in and it didn't seem that exciting. From what I've read about ray excursions on other Islands, I would recommend one in open water.

I would never reccommend anything on Pearl Island. We did the Treasure Hunt in March 06. It was the most crowded, disorganized thing I have ever done.

We took the Pearl Island snorkel, and would not recomend it. The water is way to shallow to snorkel, 2 - 3 feet deep only with limited roped area in which to snorkel. Your feet will constantly hit the coral as you swim. The swim with the rays is a small fenced in area, nothing great there as well. It was money wasted in our opinion.
