tlm Posted February 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2007 We were on the delayed Jan 3 Legend cruise. As a result, we were told that we would be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses up to $200 per person. I faxed our receipts Jan 23 to Guest Relations and since then I get different stories. One girl told me it takes a week to process and to call back, another said 3 to 4 months, and then when I called Feb 9 they could find no record of them receiving the fax. I faxed them again and had the lady provide me with a reference number. I called again this morning and am told they are being worked on. When I asked how long it would take she said "shortly". I'll give it another week but would like to know if anyone here has received their cheque and if so how long did it take? Thanks Toni
MaryAnn261 Posted February 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2007 I wasn't on that cruise... but I was on the delayed sailing of the Pride on Feb 4 or 5. I'd faxed mine in on 2/15... guess I'm in for a long wait. Keep us posted.

Our 8 day turned into a 9 day cruise. People on our cruise were upset also. There were a lot of cell calls to car services, and airlines. Some people had to change twice. The phones were a mess on the ship. If you did get a line out you could hear them but they could not hear you. After 2 hours my cell phone got a line out. Cell service was better than the cabin phones. 5 hours later Carnival changed our time of arrival again. People had to get back on the phones again. It was a mess. That extra day on the ship the casino was empty, up on the lido deck was very quiet. I changed my air and car service once. I stayed in Florida and got a flight out on Sunday. My kids liked the extra time, and so did I. Im not going to send in my cell phone charges or my air change. To change air was $50 a person. I feel Carnival lost enough money by keeping us and extra day. If I was getting on the ship that would be a whole different story. Good Luck I hope you get something. tlm Posted February 21, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted February 21, 2007 What happened that your ship was delayed. I must have missed this story The cruise before ours was delayed getting back because of a medical emergency. They had to evacuate someone and as a result, the ship didn't dock until late on Jan 3. We got notice at dinnertime the night before that we weren't going until Jan 4. Needless to say, we had a bit of scrambling to do. Toni

tlm Posted February 28, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted February 28, 2007 The FAX number for Guest Relations is 1-954-628-4261. Make sure you keep following up with them as my first fax wasn't received. (or else was lost on Carnival's end) We finally received our cheque but we weren't reimbursed for our meals. This after being told by two Carnival reps that we would. :( Toni
MaryAnn261 Posted February 28, 2007 #8 Share Posted February 28, 2007 I asked for meals on the Feb 4th cruise also... along w/ the cab ride to the pier on Monday. We had to go to the Long Beach pier on Sunday (our scheduled sail day) to check in and then go to the San Pedro pier to board the ship on Monday. It doesn't look like we will receive all of the expenses we asked for... but... I'll wait and see.
