Does Sleep Inn FLL have shopping nearby?

I'm mainly interested in someplace where we can walk to and not have to take a taxi.

Across the street from the Sleep Inn ~ publix market, pizza shop, Chinese food. A Walgreens is on the other side street.

The beach is 1 1/4 miles east of the hotel.

My mom is interested in doing some shopping. If we stay in Sleep Inn, where do we tell the cab driver to take us? Isn't there lots of shops closer to the waterfront?

 

Sorry to be so ignorant. I've never been to FLL.
