gettingmarried Posted February 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Can someone provide the rules for smoking while on board? Are there designated places that you can or cannot smoke?
Happy ks Posted February 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2007 You cannot smoke in the dining room, buffet or show rooms, theatres (if any) and probably not places like the library. There is usually one side of the ship on the pool deck designated for smoking. There are no limitations on most lines (a very few exceptions) regarding smoking in staterooms. I'm not a smoker and tend to leave smokers alone, since I quit 19 years ago I remembered other peoples attitude did nothing except annoy me, not educate me. However, a little consideration is always appreciated since the smoke does travel from your cabin (even balconies) to others cabins. Have a great cruise! gettingmarried Posted February 23, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted February 23, 2007 thanks for your information. We are NOT smokers either but also respect the fact that people do smoke and like you hope they have some respect for us non-smokers as well! The one beef I have is if there are smokers around me while I am eating a meal....we live in Ontario where they have the smoking ban in ALL public places. NO Smoking in the enclosed eating areas but on some ships there will be smoking and eating outside on the Lido Deck (one side is smoking the other is non smoking)
johnql Posted February 23, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Here's a link to a good CC article on cruise line smoking policies: http://www.cruisecritic.com/features/articles.cfm?ID=225 It covers all the major cruise lines.
