Carnival Platinum

It is someone who has cruised with Carnival at least 10 times. On the 10th cruise you become a Platinum or VIP member. There are some perks that come with being a Platinum cruiser. There is a thread on the Carnival board about this. Hope this helps. (Only two more cruises to go before we go Platinum!) :D TG23

Carnival Valor was our 11th Carnival Cruise and we had the Platinum card. We didn't get any extras on the ship. I don't remember one extra we got. I remember that we tried to get into the Concierge area but they said you had to pay for it. I think it might have been fairly new then. The people at the ship said that our platinum card was the second one they have seen. I guess it was too new to get the benefits on Carnival Valor. We had the largest room in the ship too and still didn't get benefits. It might have changed but I've been crusing Royal Caribbean the last couple of years and have got more benefits. The last Carnival Cruise I took was Carnival Valor.

When you board the ship for your 10th Carnival cruise, you become a Platinum member. This status has a few perks, which we greatly appreciated when we became members last April.

First of all, you don't have to wait in the LONG check-in lines at the terminal. You check in at the VIP lounge instead. When we arrived there were about 20 other Platinum members already checked in. As soon as Customs cleared the ship of passengers from the previous cruise, we were personally escorted to the ship...at 10:45am! Long before the other passengers were allowed to board.

Other perks we received included: canapies delievered to our cabin, personalized stationary in the cabin, chocolate-covered strawberries, free laundry service and very special treatment from all crew members who noticed our Platinum colored S&S cards during the cruise!

The best perk was at the end of the cruise when all Platinum members were, again, personally escorted...this time off the ship at 7:15am! This was great, as we were already at the airport in Orlando before the other passengers were allowed to leave the ship!

Although these perks may not mean much to other cruisers, they meant alot to us. In fact, after receiving this kind of treatment, it would be very difficult to sail with another cruise line in the future!

All good things and better then RCI

Priority embarkation and debarkation (This is the best one for us):D

Priority tender boarding

Complimentary wash and fold laundry service (not bad)

Guaranteed dining times and supper club reservations :D

Spa Carnival priority reservations and complimentary treatment upgrade

Petit fours and/or canapés delivered to cabin one evening (this was done on Dress up nights, very good):D

Personalized stationery

A special Carnival logo item (CCL BAG)

Waiving of $20 entry fee for onboard blackjack tournament (Yook 2 sec to loose)

Special luggage tags that prove you're not just some average Joe(everybody that has a early FT also gets the VIP tags, so no big thing) but Plat does go to the front of the line for debarkation)

Thanks CCL
