Tstat Posted February 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2007 My wife and I are cruising for the first time next month. It's a free cruise (4 days) to the Bahamas (Freeport and Nassau), and we have $100 each credit. I am pretty much all set with what we are going to do (British Colonial in Nassua and Our Lucaya in Freeport...we like to sit on the beach!)...but I was wondering what to expect from the ship itself, and from cruising in general. Are the pools crowded? Are the rooms nice- (we have an Upper Ocean View)? Etc. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated!:D

sassy0930 Posted February 28, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2007 I was on the Elation in Nov. It was my first cruise and I loved it. We were a five day to the bahamas (grand turk, half moon cay, nassau). The ship itself was beautiful. All the people were very nice and helpful. I think you will have a great time
jimo Posted February 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2007 My Wife and I cruised on the Elation this past summer on an Eastern itenerary. The ship is the second to last "Fantasy" Class ship that was built (around 1996 maybe). It is the first Carnival ship to use Azipod propulsion and seems to have a more reserved decor than the earlier Fantasy class ships. We had a ocean view room on the Empress deck that met our needs. All of the Outside rooms are the same and there is plenty of space and the layout is fine. The service in the dinning room was great as was the cabin service. It has a great casino, Texas hold'em Table, Putt-putt Golf, Pizza and Deli. We really enjoyed eating on the Lido deck right past the Pizza/Deli. There is an outdoor deck that over looks the stern and seems to be out of the traffic path. The ship was well kept and as usual they were cleaning constantly. The purser's desk left much to be desired, as they were slow to respond to a couple of requests that were made. I think you will really enjoy the ship and your cruise. Floridaman Posted February 28, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2007 My wife and I went on the Elation on 2/8/07 and we had the time of our lives. The room stewert and our head waiter catered to our every needs. We wanted for nothing.
