Crown-need egg crate?

Are the mattresses upgraded on the Crown or egg crates still needed?

Crown Princess is a brand new ship. However, I thought the bed was very hard. I figured because it was a new ship it would have upgraded bedding. After the first night's sleep in the bed, my hips ached. Too late, all the egg crates gone. If you like a softer sleep, ask for the eggcrate when you first board.

Are you talking about the Norwegian Crown, or the Crown Princess? We were on the Nor. Crown about a year ago and had perfectly comfy beds. We were up in the apartments on the top deck, though.

since I have never cruised before, I am at a loss. What is an egg crate?
