Len3 Posted February 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2007 Is this one OK? I don't know a thing about Lauderdale, so I'd appreciate any info on location, etc.

PoohUnderstands Posted March 1, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 1, 2007 This hotel is an icon of Fort Lauderdale Beach. The main original building is right on the beach and is actually shaped like a ship! It has been renovated and would be fine. You can walk the Fort Lauderdale Beach easily (i.e. all the eateries and souvenir, junk shops, etc. and it is about 5 minutes if that long from the port. It is fine. Pooh

cdfev Posted March 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 1, 2007 This is an older hotel and rooms vary in quality Should be fine for a one or two night stay.
jules416 Posted March 7, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 7, 2007 My dad lives in Ft. Lauderdale and the Yankee Clipper is the one of the only ones directly on the beach, without having to cross A1A. It is newly renovated and it has a great patio and bar right on the beach. You will really enjoy your stay there. I have been there almost every year for the last 15 years!!
