F3 class ships names?

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas when we will learn the names of these ships? Perhaps the Norway for one of them? Any guesses?

Maybe the first or last will be named Norway. But I'm thinking NCL will use new names, like Liberty or Freedom, as they seem to be popular in other fleets. NCL has had the opportunity to reuse some traditional names, and didin't when the named the Pearl and Gem.

 

Of course, if NCL decides to use old, familiar, traditional names, by the time they arrive, names like Norwegian Sea, Norwegain Sky, Norwegian Wind, and Norwegian Dream should be available for re-use. Other names that should be available will be Norwegian Crown and Norwegian Majesty, but they aren't traditional NCL names, just adding Norwegian in front of their existing names when NCL bought them.

 

I am really hoping the first two will be named Norwegian Sea and Norwegian Sky, and if they build the third, Norwegian Wind. Or drop the Norwegian and just reuse Seaward, Skyward, and Windward. Adding the ward seems more traditional to me.

We were on the Starward for our honeymoon. I would love it if they named one the Starward, but I guess they wouldn't have a Star and a Starward.

Since NCL seems to be running in themes (Crown & Majesty, Sun (Sea) and Wind, Dawn and Star, Jewel, Pearl & Gem odd one is Spirit? ) I would think the new F3's too would have a theme to them?

My guess is to continue with the current theme...such as:

Norwegian Diamond

Norwegian Charm

Norwegian Gold

 

or maybe they will go with a deck of cards theme:

Norwegian Club

Norwegian Heart

Norwegian Spade

 

or maybe they will go with a seasonal theme:

Norwegian Spring

Norwegian Summer

Norwegian Autumn

 

or maybe they will go with a U.S. theme:

Norwegian New York

Norwegian Florida

Norwegian California

 

or maybe they will go with a sea theme:

Norwegian Whale

Norwegian Shark

Norwegian Dolphin

 

or maybe they will go with....

I was thinking the same thing except I had Diamond, Emerald and Ruby :cool:

I'm suprised they haven't used the name Grand.

I used that in the design I posted a few threads up.

Perhaps the first 2 will be the Norwegian Grand and Norwegian Royal.

They should go back to some of the old names, personally I would love to see

the first ship come out with a blue hull and be names Norway II, but that is just a dream.

 

I am for Norwegian Sky since its an original NCL name for the days of the skyward. Also good with Norwegian Sea but I dont think they will use it as too many people will think of the old one.

 

If they insist on this craze with gemstones and such I am for the following:

Norwegian Diamond

Norwegian Emerald

 

I also Would like to see keep the Sun, Sky theme that they would name one ship.
