Cheaper Guided Tours In Italy?

I am on the splendor of seas cruise that leaves on May 6. My wife and I are wanting to get some tours from Rome and Florence. Is there any private tour guides that will provide other groups for you to go with at a discounted price? I attempted to find people on the same cruise under roll calls but no one seem to be interested. Any info would help!

dulcineahong - could you please clarify re this - are you saying you can sign up for walking tours of Livorno (the usual port for Florence) and Civitavecchia (the usual port for Rome) at the piers where ships dock - or are you referring to actual walking tours of Florence and Rome??

Just yesterday I sent out e-mails to about 6 well known tour operators out of Livorno and Rome. None would assemble a group. If you find any, let me know.

When we were over there we NEVER heard of any of them doing the assembling, you did the assembling and they did the transport.
