bobobeagle Posted March 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2007 Is the party open to everyone? Are drinks served? Thanks for your thoughts.
iluvcruzn Posted March 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 1, 2007 Are you talking about the Captains VIP Party or the Latitudes Party? If it's the Captains VIP Party it is only for those in a penthouse or above. Drinks are served at both the Captains party and the Latitudes party. sandradeen Posted March 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 2, 2007 I am almost positive there was a Captain's Party on the Jewel (about a year ago). Has it changed since then? And yes, it was open to the public.
beachchick Posted March 2, 2007 #7 Share Posted March 2, 2007 There was no Captain's party (or similar) for everyone. There was a Latitudes party. There was the Captain's VIP Cocktail Reception for Penthouse suite and above. beachchick

beachchick Posted March 2, 2007 #9 Share Posted March 2, 2007 I'm only telling you what is was like on our cruise. The Captain's VIP Cocktail Party that we were invited to was for suite pax only. It's certainly entirely possible that there was another one for Latitudes members, but it was our first NCL cruise, so I wouldn't know. beachchick
Markandrews Posted March 2, 2007 #10 Share Posted March 2, 2007 Perhaps Gold and Platinum Members are now being invited to the Suites party as well?
POOHISME2 Posted March 2, 2007 #11 Share Posted March 2, 2007 Jean-Michel is correct. I have only had one suite and have been invited to the last 5 Captains parties on three different ships. Once you hit GOLD level you are a VIP passenger. There will be a Latitudes party for all returning guests. We had so many past guests on the Dawn 11 day that they actually had to hold 2 seperate Latitudes parties.

Cruise_More_Often Posted March 2, 2007 #13 Share Posted March 2, 2007 Sometimes others are invited to the Captain's VIP party as well. On our recent Star cruise, we sat next to a lovely couple who told us they were in an inside cabin on Deck 5, were only Latitudes bronze level, and had no idea why they had been invited. The only thing they could think of was that they had been having trouble with a noise in their cabin and had complained nicely to the front desk. So, who knows! iluvcruzn Posted March 2, 2007 #15 Share Posted March 2, 2007 I'm sorry, I completely forgot about the Gold and Platinum Latitudes members being invited to the Captains VIP Party. I do remember that this was the case on our January cruise on the Jewel.
