Let's KISS

Recommended Posts

Not to be critical, but throwing out a suggestion for the native Angelenos here:

Let's remember that many of the people posing questions here are coming to LA for the first time. They're not familiar with this area and many are used to just driving on one major interstate to get around their area so suggesting a myriad of complicated directions may not really be best for them. And add in the idea that one wrong turn can end a tourist in a bad area without a Thomas Guide to get them back in the right direction. Maybe we should be offering more simplified directions for getting about and keep them in better areas of town (unless they simply refuse to listen to our advice as in one case).

If they're more adventurous, at least kinda know LA, and savvy to complicated freeways, then present them those little secrets of getting around town.

And maybe, those starting a thread can help us out by telling us if they're coming here for the first or 20th time, their age ranges (kids, etc.), and what their interests are.:)

Signed, someone who's had to play navigator (and man the Thomas Guide) to a guy -- you girls know what I'm talkin' about;)
