What to do with luggage in Miami

Our flight doesn't leave until 10:20pm the day we get back to port. Does anybody hae any suggestions on what we can do with our luggage all day after we disembark? Not sure what we are going to do all day, but if you have any suggestions for that also, that would be great. Thanks

You might consider using the valet service if you're on American Airlines, United Airlines or Delta. They take your luggage at the after customs and you don't see it again until you arrive at your airport. We used it for the first time last month when we returned from the Panama Canal cruise. It was great. Oh yes, you also receive your boarding passes on the ship too.

If it's an option you could consider taking a hotel room right across from the harbor and using that as your base for the day. We stayed at a very nice Holiday Inn right across from Bayside and spent a wonderful day there. We also took a harbor cruise which may sound strange after getting off of a cruise ship but I loved it.

They probably wouldn't have a room ready that early but you could certainly leave your luggage.

I don't know if any rental car agencies serve the Miami port, but once in Ft. Lauderdale we were off by 8am and had 4pm flights. We got on our cell phone and found a rental car big enough to hold our luggage. Pier pick up, airport drop off. Drove around and stopped at the beach to walk & have lunch, etc. Would have been much easier if we'd made advance reservations and arrangements - which we may do on an upcoming cruise.

BTW - we signed up for the Valet service on a recent cruise, and were refused. Found out the second to last night, when we'd normally get the luggage tags. Nice letter from Celebrity saying it is totally up to Airport Security and that they are not informed of the reasons why were not accepted, but that they believe some are rejected at random for airport security checks. Later, had no unusual check in at airport when we got there. Bottom line - this would be nice if you can get it but don't count on it.
