Just got home

We just arrived home after a week on Carnival Victory. I will admit that I was affraid to get off the ship in Jamaica. All those worries were put to rest when we met Marva Shaw! She is awesome and made us feel very comfortable on our excursion. We went to Dunn's River Falls, awesome! and to Mahagony beach, very relaxing! She was always right where she said she would be to meet us. We asked to stop at Del Sol and she took us right to the door and then took us on to the pier.

Glad you had a great time. I'm booked with Marva in May, I cannot wait! How long were you able to stay at the falls? Did she give you a time limit?

After reading many reviews regarding Jamaica, it seems that people who chose to do a sponored tour with a recommended local tour guide have a better experience, than people who just get off the ship and hire a taxi or just walk around.

 

It seems many people really don't like tours. They rather go on their own, but considering which Island it's probably best to do the research and do a tour to get the best experience.

 

Glad you had a positive experience. We also had a positive experience when we visited Negril hiring local tour guides instead of going on our own. We are looking forward to Ocho Rios and have also hired a local receommended tour guide for our stop.
