Think latest release at your video store. Dave

Cpt Posted September 25, 2007 #1154 Share Posted September 25, 2007 Something I just noticed on the Deck Plans. We are in E166 and E170. I noticed the dot on the room number, and looked it up to see what it meant. It says "One Upper". What does that mean? Please don't tell me that I have booked a cruise with bunk beds. jetskier Posted September 25, 2007 #1156 Share Posted September 25, 2007 We'll be there, can't wait I need this vacation!!!!!!!!! And to think when I am getting off, you will be getting on. This will be my 5th time on the Fantasy within a year. Make sure you find Larry in the Casino Bar. He is a trip. As he puts it, "he is my brother from another mother". If you really want to puzzle him, call him Commander. Dave
Cpt Posted September 25, 2007 #1157 Share Posted September 25, 2007 You will have two lower beds (which can be put together) and one upper bed which will stay folded up into the wall if you don't need it. Thank you for the quick response. I was getting the warm belly just thinking about having to tell my friends that I booked them in a cabin with bunk beds! I have a couple of other questions also. Hubby and I are cruising with another couple. PVP suggested that since we are past guests, to book me with my friend, and hubby with friend's hubby, in order to get the best price on the room. The question is how are the S&S cards done. Can I give them a credit card for me, and my friend give them her cc for her S&S? Same with our spouses? Also, on our docs, our friends' last name begins with Mc. The docs don't capatalize the E after Mc. Is going to be a problem? The spelling is correct, just one letter is not capatalized. Thanks for the help. Thinking of more questions to ask....
nowendy Posted September 25, 2007 #1158 Share Posted September 25, 2007 Has any of you past cruisers stayed in R-19 on Fantasy? Not to happy with my cabin assignment for my upcoming 4 day cruise? In January I was on Empress deck & loved it. Not so lucky this time. In April we had R16 and it was fine. We were happy because we had booked a inside gty. and got upgraded to a porthole room. We really didn't notice any noise or rocking. It was a very quiet area because we were so close to the front. The one thing that I didn't like was that we had the dining room ALL the way in the back. It was a long walk. But..... it wasn't bad at all. I can remember everytime we were on the Holiday certain sections of the ship always smelled swerage. That would of upset me more that being all the way in the front. Hope you have fun! nowendy Posted September 25, 2007 #1159 Share Posted September 25, 2007 We were on the Miracle last year and it had a hair dryer. Does anyone know if the Fantasy has hair dryers? Also, in the bathroom, is there room/shelves to put your hair stuff like the Miracle or do I need to take an over the door shoe holder? One last question, our room only has 1 fold down and the Carnival agent said that would work best for my family of 4 since I have a two year old. She said they would bring us a roll away. Has anyone ever had experience with those? Yes, i have a family of 5 and we always have a roll away brought in. The little one sleeps on that. My older sons say that it is actually more comfortable than the bunks. During the day, they just move it out of the way.

I haven't been on the Riviera deck in years but remember the sewer smell. Let's hope it's not a problem or I will be the one standing in the Platinum line at the Purser's desk complaining. Rowan555 Posted September 25, 2007 #1161 Share Posted September 25, 2007 The spelling on your friend's name won't be a problem. Regarding the cabin arrangements to get the past guest pricing, we just did this for a January 17th cruise on the Fantasy, which we're taking with two friends of ours, so I don't have any firsthand knowledge of how it works. I know the PVP told me we could go to the Purser's desk and have it straightened out, but I don't know the details. I'm hoping it isn't too much hassle! Thank you for the quick response. You can assign an individual credit card to each individual S&S or you can assign a credit card to two of the S&S. All of this will be done when you are being processed. A seperate S&S Account form will have to be filled out for each credit card used. It also list who is going to be responsible for the other guests on the form. The Fantasy uses seperate room keys. So there are two way to do it. Just swap room keys. You will on the last morning have to give the other party their S&S statement as it will go to your room and them yours. OR you can go down to the purser's desk and have the room swapped in the computer so that the S&S card reflects the correct room. The room number is on the front of your S&S card so a new S&S card will have to be issued. The name is not a problem. Dave
Rowan555 Posted September 25, 2007 #1163 Share Posted September 25, 2007 Dave - would you suggest we just put credit cards on each individual S&S account, rather than fussing with switching the rooms in the computer once we're on board? That seems like the simpler solution. Since the room keys are separate, it seems like that would be the easiest way to handle it, unless I'm missing something. That seems like the simpler solution. Since the room keys are separate, it seems like that would be the easiest way to handle it, unless I'm missing something. The only glitch comes in, is if something has to be delivered to the room such as your room statement, liquor from the gift shop. If your good friends are trustworthy, no problem. If you want to do it correctly and fix the cards, then I would also wait to have the credit card information put on at that time. If the processing people balk, then tell them you are going to put down a cash deposit when you are onboard. They know how to deal with that better than the first part. Basically your S&S cards will be issued but you will not have any charge priviledges until the deposit is made or backed by a credit card. RoperDK Posted September 25, 2007 #1165 Share Posted September 25, 2007 Hi Dawn,There is a seperate plastic multi holed key for the room. Room safe has a keypad. Dont confuse it as being a microwave as my wife's Uncle did on his first cruise. He put his plate inside and could not figure out how to turn it on. I will be getting back on the Fantasy as you are getting off if you are getting on Oct 6th. Dave Thanks Dave! This is our first time on a Fantasy class ship. We've been on the Holiday out of Moblile so many times that we are looking for a change of pace that is also close to home. We are also in our first cat. 12, thanks to Carnival's excellent military rate! We do leave on the Fantasy on Oct. 6th. We'll try to keep the ship in good working order for your cruise! Alcohol delivery is not an issue at all, we're both buying some and we share anyway ;) Do you happen to know if they will deliver two statements to the room if we have a different credit card number on each card in the room? Or will both be printed on one sheet? It's no big deal, I'm just curious. Thanks!

If using the same credit card, there will be two folio numbers on the statement so that you can see who charged what. At the bottom of the form, it has the person's name and assigned folio number. Dawn You will enjoy the size of the Cat 12 cabin. I know what you mean about the MIL rate. I would not have been able to take so many cruises without it. You will like the atrium on the Fantasy. The Holiday does not have one. The gifts shops are also a lot larger. Dave
sandsand Posted September 26, 2007 #1169 Share Posted September 26, 2007 I posted this in it's own thread but I wanted to put it here too since it really pertains to the Fantasy: I've seen the Carnival bar menu and was on the Conquest earlier this year. Even though the menu shows miller lite in the 16 oz. plastic bottles and bud light in the 16 oz. aluminum bottles only I could have sworn that I saw those in the 12 oz. can at the sky bar. Will be on the Fantasy very soon and was wondering if anyone has seen the 12 oz. cans on the Fantasy at any of the bars on the ship.

There were some beers that were in regular cans instead of the bottles. I know the Bud and Miller Lites were in bottles. Dave
LHP Posted September 26, 2007 #1171 Share Posted September 26, 2007 I am not a big beer drinker (only with my grilled reuben)...but I love those blue Budweiser aluminum thingies...that are shaped like a bottle but are aluminum !!! I have had a table for 8 and not have the other 7 show up. There was a table next to us on the Conquest that was a 10 topper and three of the nights, a lady had to eat by herself because noone else showed up. I dont see where it would be odd to request it. Some people dont do well around strangers and such so I am sure the request will not be unusual. Dave
