Carnival Excursion Question

I've read in the Port section something interesting and I want to see if anyone can verify it. We will be docking in Calica on my 4/28 Inspiration Cruise. I have wanted to go to Xel-Ha forever but Carnival only offers a Tulum/Xel-HA combo excursion. But I read that they do Xel-Ha first and if you want to skip Tulum, they will come back at 4 PM for the people who choose to stay at Xel-Ha. This would be wonderful, but I definatley want a verification before I plan on doing this. I know Xcaret is closer and we could do that on our own, but Xel-Ha is just somewhere I've always wanted to see. Anyone know the answer to this? Please? :o

Let me start by saying I don't know the specific answer to your question. However, I have been to both Xel ha and Xcaret and I found Xcaret to be far better. Xel ha is pretty much just floating down a river and not much more. I would recommend you go with Xcaret.
