WildWillie Posted March 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2007 Was on the Grand last year, and had a wonderful time. I was up a bit early this AM, and decided to watch her pull in. To my amazement, with the sun rising, I could see several tugs helping her along, and now they are clearly seen assisting her in the big turn. The flags on shore don't seem to indicate any huge wind. Did I miss something????
Cindy Posted March 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2007 No problems...tugs almost always help in Galveston. They did on our cruise last year, and every time I've seen the ship coming and going this year.
LonghornKJK Posted March 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2007 It also looks like it is very foggy, as it is all over Central and Southeast Texas this morning. My daughter and son-in-law are debarking the Grand this morning. I can't wait to hear how everything went! :)

Snoozeman Posted March 10, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2007 The Grand does seem to use tugs much more than any other ship that docks in Galveston. Probably was the fog. Looks fine now.
LonghornKJK Posted March 10, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2007 Longhorn, We sail her in four and a half months, please let us know how their cruise went! Was it their first? Charlie This is her second cruise. I took her and her two sisters on the same cruise in December. And I went with my husband and mother and siblings and laws in November of 2005. We had a great time every time! Loved the Grand, loved the ports! In fact, I prefer Roatan to Grand Cayman, where we went the first time. I'd do the cruise again if I had the time and money. :) My daughter is a member here. Maybe I can get her to do a review. Have a great cruise! MTJSR Posted March 10, 2007 #7 Share Posted March 10, 2007 It does seem a little unusual, we left and returned from Galveston without any tugs but maybe there is a stronger current than normal in the channel. Hope everything is fine. Grand Princess Pictures: http://new.photos.yahoo.com/nflraiders2000/album/576460762335453742#page1
