Walking tours of SA ports

Hi,

 

We will be sailing FLL to Valparaiso in November. We are not interested in organized tours or show excursions but would like to know if we can see anything of interest in these ports by walking from the pier into town. Would appreciate any input from people who have made this trip.

Our ports will be Cartagena, Manta, Arica, La Serena, Lima and Valparaiso. Any infor on these place will be greatly appreciated.
